Radish Concepts

Radish Concepts is a specialized development agency from Enschede, founded by Richard, Arjan and David. Their initials (R, A, and D) formed the basis for the name “Radish”, complemented by a vegetable for recognizability and a playful twist in the company name.

In the meantime, there have been some changes and Radish Concepts is now run by Floris Lof and Arjan Snaterse. Radish Concepts originally started out as a conceptfactory, but since this did not achieve the desired success, they shifted their focus to client work. The passion to develop concepts always remained present in the background. Leading to, among other things, to the creation of SustainQ

Radish Concepts has now grown into a softwarehouse that takes care of challenging WordPress projects. Their strength lies in their deep expertise and providing complex solutions. They are not a full-service agency, but a specialized partner you turn to when things get technically challenging. Where many marketing agencies stop, Radish Concepts goes further and solves the complex problems that others can not handle.

Radish Concepts works as much as possible according to WordPress-standards. By staying up to date with what is currently in WordPress and what is coming next, they ensure that websites can always be updated without any issues. They avoid using page builders and work exclusively with the Block Editor. Their vision is focused on higher expertise: working the way it was originally intended by the creators of WordPress.

Floris Lof (co-owner)

Floris is co-owner of Radish Concepts and has a background as a frontend-developer. He has been working with WordPress since 2007 first as an employee, then as a freelancer and eventually he joined Radish Concepts, where he became a co-owner. Within Radish Concepts, Floris is involved in both complex programming tasks and overseeing projects, as well as guiding the team. His passion for technology and his focus on an informal, enjoyable work environment is tipical for his approach.

Floris not only loves his work, but also really enjoys the team he works with. With nine guys in the office who all share the same sense of humor, it’s pretty much always a recipe for a fun workday.

The atmosphere in the office is informal and relaxed and there is even a shared hobby: LEGO. The office features several sets, including sets from Star Wars, Batman and the Titanic.

At Radish Concepts, they believe that when you feel comfortable at work, results will naturally follow. A relaxed work environment and a healthy work-life balance lead to greater enjoyment and better outcomes.

Challenges

Radish found that support and performance at other hosting providers often left much to be desired. You’re usually directed to a first-line helpdesk that can’t provide a solution right away, only to be referred to a second-line that often doesn’t really understand the issue either. And when you finally do get an answer, it’s often a solution that’s of little use. That of course, is frustrating!

That’s why they looked for a hosting provider with in-depth WordPress knowledge, one that doesn’t just offer standard solutions, but truly looks beyond the basics. A partner who understands how WordPress works and thinks along actively.

Floris has known Ramon for years, mainly through the WordPress community. They have met several times at WordCamps, where Floris often participated as a speaker. In addition, they regularly ran into each other at local meetups. Sometimes Floris was involved as a sponsor or volunteer, which brought them into contact with each other more and more.

At first, Floris preferred not to work with hosting providers who were self-employed but when he saw that the hosting was truly top-notch and delivered strong results, he changed his mind.
