De Kunning Concepts
Paul Hendriks originally started as a part-time entrepreneur alongside his full-time job. At first, he thought he would do some small creative jobs, such as designing logos. This led Paul to start creating logos and websites for friends and family. Over time, he took on more projects. This eventually formed the foundation of his company, De Kunning Concepts.
Paul Hendriks got the opportunity to take a different direction. He took additional training to improve his skills in web and visual design. During his work, he noticed that many clients struggled early on to clearly explain who they were and what made them unique.
This inspired Paul to specialize in brand strategy and the associated marketingengine. De Kunning Concepts grew so well that in August 2023 he faced a choice, continue working for an employer or fully commit to his clients. Paul chose his clients, resigned from his job and started working as a full-time entrepreneur.
Paul believes that a strong brand is more important than ever, especially now that technology and AI increasingly shape how businesses operate. According to him, a brand is the only true way to stand out, not through a logo or a website, but through a clear story about who you are, why you do what you do and what you stand for. With De Kunning Concepts, he aims to make branding and marketing understandable and honest again. He helps SMEs and self employed professionals build strong brands in an accessible way, so customers and employees can truly connect with their business.
Challenges
At first, the old hosting provider seemed to work well. But after it was taken over by a new owner, everything changed. Websites were offline for an entire day, with no quick support available. At Klarned, however, everything stays online and support is available whenever you need it.
Paul found himself in a frustrating situation, clients called with questions about their websites, but he was unable to do anything to resolve the issues. Problems only became visible when it was already too late and there was no one proactively monitoring and fixing issues before they had noticeable consequences for clients.
The service became more and more unreliable and the websites were slow, causing stress.
